New Role For Furneaux

By: Bill Osborne
Date: 21/10/2004

FORMER chairman, Peter Furneaux, has changed his role at Grimsby Town Football Club and is now in a new position as the new Executive Director.

This new role does not affect Mr Ian Fleming who is the Chief Executive Officer. Mr Furneaux's role is to assist and stand in for chairman, John Fenty who is not always available due to his business interests.

Pete will do most of the things he did as chairman such as sitting on the League committees and acting as the club spokesman etc.

The idea of appointing him to this new role was made some time ago but was not implemented due to the objections of a now former director.

Pete Furneaux has been involved at many levels in Grimsby Town. His commitment to the club has been evident over a great number of years and his experience is a valuable asset to the club.

We wish him well.
