Rambo Signs Up!

By: Rob Sedgwick
Date: 25/04/2005

SIMON Ramsden has committed his future to the Mariners for a further year. The classy defender signed a one year deal today, which will keep him at Blundell Park until the end of next season. Utility player Jason Crowe has also been offered terms, but the former Pompey midfielder is thinking it over.

Ramsden has been at Blundell Park for just one season since signing from Sunderland in the summer. The 23-year-old has had his problems with injuries this year, but has looked an accomplished defender when he has been played in a central defensive position.

Ramsden signed a one year deal last season, but Grimsby are believed to have had a one year option for a further year, which they have chosen to take up.

Jason Crowe has played a number of defensive and midfield roles this season, and has been one of Grimsby's most consistent performers on the pitch this campaign.

Russell Slade had promised to speak to all of his out of contract players this week regarding their future at Blundell Park. The list is believed to include: Williams, McDermott, Whittle, Crowe, Coldicott, Hockless, Soames, Fleming, Bull, Pinault, Jones and Forbes.
