Not Too Happy |
The Inquest - Northampton

RUSSELL Slade was not too pleased with the way Town performed against Northampton but was happy we maintained our away run of no defeats in eight games.
"We were a bit at sixes and sevens early on in the game, that was a bit of a concern. It took us time to get our legs. We allowed them to play between us and we weren't picking up their extra midfielder. They were winning a lot of second balls, creating chances against us. I thought that we were found wanting in the first half, but what we do have is resilience in the side."
"We possibly created the best chance through Ciaran Toner and he's put his shot just wide. It would have been a bit cheeky to come here and get all three points, but it was a very gutsy performance and I'm delighted."
"I'm drained because I had to rotate them around, to try and get the fittest ones in the right areas, it was a test today. Michael Reddy wasn't 100%, even Paul Bolland, who managed to play the ninety minutes, was absolutely terrific. You've got to give our back four credit. They've done magnificent again."
"The big thing every week is not to lose - to go eight unbeaten is credit to everybody. We now just need to rectify our home form. We need to back it up at home to take the pressure off away from home," he added.
Northampton Town manager, Colin Calderwood, praised his team's performance, but was frustrated with a 0-0 draw. "I am frustrated with the result, but I could not be frustrated with the way we played."
"We had our better opportunities in the first half but when Sean Dyche went off we had to adjust a little. The standard of performance, against a good team who have not lost away from home, was good. But we feel we are capable of playing been better."
"It would have been a bitter blow had Ciaran Toner scored with their best chance of the game. It was the only mistake Pedj Bojic made all afternoon and we didn't deserve to concede. The football we played was very pleasing but we could not find that goal we feel we deserved. We had to adjust our shape because of an injury today but we maintained our excellent tempo."
