Can Town Hold Out?

By: David Chandler
Date: 24/01/2006

IS it time to get the worry beads out? Is the pressure telling? With only three goals in three games and Russell Slade talking about a 'dip' in performance lately, should we be worried or is it just the run of the game.?

On the plus side, the top of the table opposition also seemed to be having a dip as they too only managed draws.

It is almost the same every season around this time. We hit a dull patch and we all start getting nervous. Fortunately, this season we worry about promotion rather than getting relegated, which has been the case for the previous 5 seasons.

We were lucky to gain a point on Saturday and that will give the Slade knockers an opportunity to surface again, but overall it seems our Mr Slade is not worrying too much although like everyone else he was disappointed about Saturday's result.

The next few games will soon tell if we are starting to loose pace a bit our position at the moment means teams will have to beat us to dislodge us and that has not been easy for them up to now.

It looks as if the injured list is getting sorted out so if we can get back to our 'usual ' line up, we should start to see some improvement. The loss of Whittle has made a difference according to some and Macca has been sorely missed too.

But like everyone else, this squad has to suffer with absences due to injury, and get on the best they can. There are not many clubs in this league who have huge squads so it is the same for everyone.

I think Town are the best in this league and will get promoted.
