Stoke Pair In New Deals

By: Rob Sedgwick
Date: 01/01/2007

THE Mariners have extended the loans of Stoke pair Martin Paterson and Anthony Pulis until February 21 following their successful five weeks on loan at Blundell Park. The third loan player, winger Peter Till, Alan Buckley is hoping to sign on a permanent basis.

The pair have been ever-present since arriving at Blundell Park, with Paterson in particular making a sensational start with four goals in his first three games.

The additional loan period will make the pair available for eight league games, starting with the next match at league leaders Walsall in two weeks' time.

Town desperately need some additional defensive cover, which Alan Buckley will hopefully add to the squad now the transfer window is open for a month.
