Worst Result for a Decade!

GRIMSBY'S 4-0 defeat at home to Rochdale is their worst result at Blundell Park in over a decade. Not since 1996, when the Mariners lost 4-0 at home to champions-elect Sunderland, have Town suffered such a mauling in front of their own fans.
As the majority of seasons since 1996 have been spent in relegation battles in higher divisions, today's result is especially poor.
The result also equals Alan Buckley's worst ever home scoreline, which was shortly after his arrival in his first spell in 1988, when Town lost 4-0 to Rotherham.
In the fourth flight of the Football League Grimsby have only ever lost four times by four goals at Blundell Park.
