WREXHAM defender Richard Hope was the second signing of the day for the Mariners joining fellow centre back Matt Heywood in putting pen to paper on a two year deal with Town.
The Stockton-born centre back had been transfer listed by Wrexham following their relegation to the Blue Square Premier last season.
The 30-year-old has a lot of experience in League Two having played for Darlington, Northampton Town, York City, Chester City and Shrewsbury Town, and made over 350 appearances in total.
Buckley has opted for height at the back in next season's central defensive squad with Hope (6'2") and Heywood (6'3") both the right side of six feet, as well as Ryan Bennett who stands at 6'2".
Having made his defensive signings Alan Buckley may now be switching his attention further up the pitch as he continues to build a squad which he feels will be competitive in League Two.
