Luton v Grimsby Team News

By: Rob Sedgwick
Date: 17/03/2009

GRIMSBY head to Luton on Tuesday night for another massive game with several players injured and Mike Newell ruling out any forays into the loan market. Town will have to make do against Newell's former club with several second choice players.

Midfielder Danny Boshell, who has been one of Town's better players of late, limped off against Chester and will not be fit in time for Luton. Utility player Chris Llwellyn is expected to replace Bosh in the centre of the park.

Kalala, who missed Saturday's clash with Chester JPK is also struggling with a groin injury. Forgotten man James Hunt came in for the Congelese midfielder at the weekend.

Town's final injury worry is Nathan Jarman who is set to miss the tie with a tooth infection. Jarman was a substitute on Saturday so would probably not have been in Mike Newell's starting XI.

Mike Newell will have to decide whether to continue with a 3-5-2 formation or revert to 4-4-2.

Luton have just one injury doubt - Ed Asafu-Adjaye who limped off at the weekend.

It is now over a year since Grimsby last won a midweek league game. Their last triumph on their travels outside of the weekend was a 4-1 win at home to Barnet in March 2008.

Grimsby (predicted): Henderson - Atkinson, Newey, Bennett - Clarke, Hegarty, Hunt, Llewellyn, Widdowson - Proudlock, Akpa Akpro. Subs: Montgomery, Stcockdale, Bore, Forbes, North
