GRIMSBY face Aldershot on Blundell Park on Saturday with the prospect of another big crowd cheering the Mariners on. Town have won their last two home games 5-1 and 3-0 so will be looking to make id a hattrick of victories against the Hampshire club.

Other than Kalala (stomach strain) and long-time injury Paul Bolland, Mike Newell has a full squad to pick from now that Danny Boshell is fit again after shrugging off a recent knock. But Newell is unlikely to change the side from last week's after what he described after the game as the best performance since he came to the club.

Last Saturday Grimsby beat second placed Gillingham 3-0 with over 6,000 Town fans cheering on the Mariners, and it looks like being a similar if not greater crowd this weekend with the local paper once again supporting reduced ticket prices.

Aldershot in their first season after being promoted from the Conference got off to a terrific start in league football, and were fifth in the table before Christmas. However a poor run saw them fall away into midtable obscurity and hopes of promotion have long been forgotten.

The Shots are strong at home (when Town played them in late December they were still unbeaten at the Recreation Ground), but it is their away form has let them down in the first season back in the football league. However a good midweek win at Rotherham last week shows the Shots are still capable of picking up results on their travels.

In the match against Aldershot back in December Town were 2-0 up at half time, but Richard Hope conceded two penalties after the break (one of them very dubious) and Town did well in the end to hang on for a point.

With Nikki Bull injured, Rhys Day out for the season and Andy Lindegaard recalled by Cheltenham Town, Waddock has few options in defence, which has meant extended runs in the team for, among others, Dave Winfield and Mikhael Jaimez-Ruiz.

Midfielder Ben Harding is out after a tear to his Achilles and may not feature again this season.

Fishy Prediction: Grimsby 2 Aldershot 0
