Atkinson Suspended for Three Games

TOWN will not be appealing to the FA over Rob Atkinson's sending off against Northampton Town at Sixfields on Saturday. Although Neil Woods thought the decision was "harsh", the club clearly feel that the video evidence is unlikely to persuade the FA to reverse the decision.
Atkinson was handed a straight red card by the referee Keith Stroud for a late challenge on Northampton player Liam Davis.
As a result Atkinson will miss the first three games of the new manager's reign: Lincoln away, Bradford at home, and Macclesfield away.
Grimsby have now had seven players sent off so far this season.
