Barnsley Midfielder Signs

MIDFIELDER Michael Coulson has signed on a month's loan with Grimsby from Barnsley, where he has been for three years. Scarborough-burn Coulson used to play under Russell Slade for his home town club, but left to join the Tykes in 2006.
The 22-year-old has just spent a month at BSP outfit Chester City, where he made five starts and scored one goal.
Chester wanted to keep him but could not afford to extend the deal.
Town have been arguably been weakest in midfield all season, so have snapped him up to try and bolster the side in the middle of the park.
It might be a coincidence but the fact that Coulson used to play for Russell Slade in the past may indicate that the former Town boss could be behind this deal, and could shortly be re-appointed as Grimsby manager.
Postscript Hull City striker Nicky Featherstone has now joined the club on loan, a week after ruling out a move to Blundell Park. The 21-year-old has made 8 appearances for the Tigers.
