Fenty Denies Drinking Culture

TOWN Chairman John Fenty has denied there is a drinking culture at Blundell Park, and asked fans to report any violation of the club's rules to him. Former manager Mike Newell was rumoured to be a heavy drinker, and there has been some suggestions that this may have spread to some of the players during Newell's time at the club.
Mr Fenty told the Grimsby Telegraph: "They are not supposed to drink 72 hours before the game. That is protocol.
"We all like a drink. But if anyone is drinking to extremes and behaving badly, I would like to be the first to know."
The Town chairman also wants anyone who has seen players drinking to excess within 72 hours of a game to to let him know.
"If anyone wants to tell me about cases, they can phone me up and tell me about it", he said, adding, "it would help if they had some supporting evidence."
