Ademeno out for Two Months

By: Rob Sedgwick
Date: 31/08/2010 (Last updated: 01/09/2010)

TOWN'S mini injury crisis has taken a turn for the worse with the news that striker Charles Ademeno will be out for two months with a hamstring injury. The former Crawley striker, who had a truncated pre-season due to injury, had to go off during the first half of the Histon game on Bank Holiday Monday.

With both 'keepers still struggling with injuries Woods is to bring in a loan stopper this week to play in goal. Goalkeeping coach Steve Croudson was an emergency choice on Monday but is not a long-term option as he still suffers from the injury which caused him to end his career early. He was able to play and make a couple of saves at the weekend but Woods is not willing to let him continue.

Neil Woods told the Grimsby Telegraph: "Steve's performance was fantastic but we have to judge whether it's fair - however happy Steve would be to carry on playing - to let him do that.

"He's got an injury that restricts him massively. There is a certain movement that causes him a lot of pain.

"We hope to get another keeper, but that's not a reflection on what Steve did yesterday".

Postscript: Sheffield Wednesday reserve 'keeper Richard O'Donnell has joined Grimsby on a month's loan.
