FA Cup Latest

SCUNTHORPE have made Neil Woods's selection for Saturday's FA Cup Clash a little more complicated by not allowing on-loan midfielder Andrew Wright to play in the match. The Iron do not want Wright to become cup-tied in the nation's flagship cup competition.

However Scunthorpe have extened Wright's loan by another month, meaning at least five more league games for the midfielder.

Town have already lost the services of fellow loanees Sheff Wed 'keeper Richard O'Donnell (not allowed to play) and Bury striker Danny Carlton (loan finished). Goalkeeping coach Steve Croudson may have to come out of retirement to play in the game, as he did earlier in the season when regular 'keeper Kenny Arthur was injured.

In other team news Rob Eagle should return from suspension, but Lewis Gobern, and Steven Watt are definitely out injured.

Neil Woods may elect to play a 4-3-3 side.

In other news the police have asked that Grimsby's match with Mansfield on Boxing Day be moved to a 1pm kick-off, which the two clubs have agreed to.
