Sinclair Agrees Town Move

MIDFIELDER Dean Sinclair is set to join the Mariners for the third time. The 25-year-old, who has had two loan spells at Blundell Park from Charlton, has been released from the Valley and is now a free agent.

The club have agreed a deal with the former Barnet midfielder, but it is subject to him proving his fitness after a few months out of the game.

Town boss Neil Woods told the Grimsby Telegraph: "Dean contacted us to see if we would take a look at him. No one at this football club has any doubts about his talent or ability, and he knows how well he is thought of here.

"He's had injury problems in the past and actually had a knee injury while he was with us last season. He went back to Charlton at the end of the season and had a minor operation.

"There is a contract agreed but that is subject to Dean proving his fitness.

"There's no time limit on that, but we want someone who can come in now. We have lost Andrew Wright, so we want someone to come straight into contention."

It's unlikely Sinclair would be able to come in straight away to strengthen Town's midfield, but may prove a useful squad member, and at 25 could prove a good signing in the medium term.
