Beat the Bookies: Week 22

By: Rob Sedgwick
Date: 22/12/2010

LAST weekend's bets were wiped out because of the weather. With the lower league matches all in doubt once again on Boxing Day it's once again time to stick to the Premiership for the festive fixtures.

Home > 2010-2011 Season > Beat the Bookies > Week 22

  • ARSENAL (2.63, Betfred) v Chelsea. We've made a fair amount this season from opposing Chelsea. They are getting back towards full strength but have still to get that elusive win. Arsenal have slipped up a few times at home this season, but given Chelsea's recent form they've probably got a good chance of winning this.
  • Fulham v WEST HAM (4.33, Betfred). Fulham have not won for ages, and West Ham so seem to have improved a bit in recent weeks. The Hammers will be desperate to get a least a point, but they've got a good chance of getting all three against Mark Hughes's side.
  • Man Utd v SUNDERLAND (13.0, Bet365). It's been a long time these two clubs have been this close in the league in Decmember. You might scoff at the thought of Sunderland winning at Old Trafford, but remember the 3-0 win at Stamford Bridge (which we tipped!)
  • ASTON VILLA (2.4, Stam James) v Tottenham. Villa's recent results have not been great but the fact that they've been playing big sides suggest nothing fundamentally is wrong. Of course Tottenham are themselves a big side this season, and they don't often lose, but I fancy Villa to take the honours on Boxing Day.
