Three and Counting!

ROB Scott and Paul Hurst have now gone three games without a win, but have some way to go before having a worse start than their two predecessors. Neil Woods went 23 games before recording his first win (equivalent to half a season!) and Mike Newell chalked up nine blanks when he became Grimsby boss.
Alan Buckley III had to wait four games before getting a win against Accrington Stanley. The manager before him though, Graham Rodger, hit the jackpot in his first game when the Mariners came from behind to beat Boston 3-2.
Town's most successful manager of the modern era, Russell Slade, had to wait just three games before his Grimsby side chalked up their first win against Bury.

Alan Buckley III | 4 |
Graham Rodger II | 1 |

Scott and Hurst do have the advantage now of pressure-free games for the rest of the season, some of which are against semi-professional sides, so one would expect it only a matter of time before the Mariners do pick up that elusive first win, but you never know in football!
