Grimsby v Cambridge Team News

By: Rob Sedgwick
Date: 23/08/2011

GRIMSBY have appealed against the sending off on Darran Kempson at Newport on Saturday so the centre back can still play against Cambridge.

Town though still have injury worries. Scott Garner (knee) faces a month on the sidelines, Gary Silk (ankle) and Anthony Church (back) are also ruled out. However striker Liam Hearn (ankle) is expected to have recovered.

18-year-old youth team defender Conor Marshall has joined the first team squad on a non-contract basis but is unlikely to feature in the game.

Barnet midfielder Rossi Jarvis has just joined Cambridge on loan for a month, as has Oxford left back Steve Kinniburgh. Meanwhile Steve Connors (medical condition) and Simon Russell (joined Lincoln) have both left the club.

Cambridge have 4 points from their first three games, but lost at home to Kidderminster on Saturday.

There will be 30 seconds of applause to remember Fishy poster MarinerMatt24 before the game. Matt died after a long battle against cancer last week.
