Question of the Week

Where will Grimsby finish?

Bath v Grimsby Team News

By: Rob Sedgwick
Date: 20/01/2012

TOWN have a full squad to pick from for the visit of Bath City at Blundell Park which means the managers will have to decide whether to stick with a winning side or to bring back the players who were injured, rested or suspended in the FA Trophy game with Hornchurch.

Midfielder Craig Disley was rested for the Hornchurch to try and resolve for good a niggling ankle injury which has been troubling him. Midfielder Anthony Church (back) and defender Charlie I'Anson (ankle) will also be pushing for a starting place after recovering from knocks.

The managers choices also extend to cup-tied pair defender Ian Miller and attacker Kiernan Hughes-Mason who were unavailable for the Hornchurch game, but featured (and in Miller's case started) in the winning league games preceding it. Miller may be selected ahead of Pearson who may have to settle for a place on the bench, despite a strong performance against Hornchurch, as was his previous outing at Lincoln.

Finally right back Bradley Wood lost his place through suspension to erstwhile first choice right back Gary Silk. Silk has not done much wrong in his three games in the back four and would be unlucky to miss out.

Bath are still bottom, where they were when Town last played the Romans at Twerton Park when they threw away a two goal lead. However that result against Town seems to have launched City's fight against relegation and they have lost just one out of their last nine matches.

Midfielders Marley Watkins (ankle) and Lewis Hogg (back) are doubts for Bath having picked up recent injuries.
