The Fishy - Grimsby Town FC

Question of the Week

Is football a business or a sport?

We are Town!

THE Blue Square Premier League (which will probably be called something else next season as Blue Square have been taken over by Betfair) is now complete so Town fan can start planning their travels next season. Lincoln remains the shortest trip from Blundell Park, but some of the new sides in the division are the furthest away.

Newcomers Aldershot and Salisbury and the two longest trips in the calendar, both over 300 miles round trip. London clubs Barnet and Welling are over 250 miles, and even Chester in the North West is a 240 mile round trip. Only FC Halifax can be deemed to be relatively close, and it is the third nearest game for those living in Grimsby.

Someone travelling to every Grimsby game and back next season would travel 5,366 miles, which is almost the radius of the Earth.
