Gateshead v Grimsby Team News

GRIMSBY will deserved with their 4-3-3 formation at Gateshead despite the poor performance and the lack of chances created in the season's opener at Aldershot. Town were strong favourites to pick up three points but only a late penalty allowed Town to escape with an undeserved draw.

Rob Scott and Paul Hurst have both defended their new look formation and said it will continue to be the side's chosen system this season. Town will have to cope without penalty scorer Ross Hannah who came off the bench to help the Mariners pick up a point at the weekend. The former Bantam will be out for several weeks with a hamstring injury.

Ex-Mariner Richard Brodie is now at Gateshead and will be desperate to do well against his former club.

Most of the pre-season favourites are away from home in tonight's games. Forest Green travel to Nuneaton, Kidderminster visit Alfreton, Wrexham take on Halifax. Only Luton, who lost their opening game at Southport, are at home. They take on Salisbury at Kenilworth Road, which is a must win game for Hatters manager John Still.
