JOE Colbeck is suspended for the visit of Dartford as a result of a three-match ban for his red card against Chester on Saturday. Grimsby have a ready made replacement in winger Scott Neilson.
Paul Hurst must decide whether to stick with the 4-4-2 system used at Chester, where Town held out for a point after Colbeck's red card, or to revert to the 4-3-3 system which has had limited success this season.
Whether system Town employ captain Craig Disley is likely to return in midfield for the match at Blundell Park after missing the Chester game. Winger Alex Rodman has also recovered from a slight knock.
Dartford have had a poor start but thrashed Kidderminster 3-0 at the weekend. Mat Mitchel-King (knee) could return to the match squad.
The match will be Paul Hurst's first at Blundell Park since he officially became solely in charge of Grimsby.
