Is football a business or a sport?

Forest Groan

GRIMSBY gave themselves a mountain to climb at Forest Green last night after conceding two poor first half goals. They almost did it however after Neilson pulled a goal back and the Mariners dominated the whole of the second half.

It wasn't to be and Grimsby will once against point to mistakes which gifted the opposition a lead. Lee Hughes opened the scoring for Forest Green after 2 minutes when Pearson lost his footing and allowed the former WBA striker clean through on goal.

Forest Green were unlucky not to double their lead when Norwood was allowed the space to shoot and struck the post.

Rovers scored their second goal from a corner, Oshodi rose in the box to head uncontested into the net.

Just before half time Andy Cook missed a golden chance, mishitting his shot from a good position.

Right at the start of the second half Thomas crossed for Cook to force a good save from the 'keeper with his head.

A few minutes later a good spell of pressure by Town saw Kerr set up Neilson who hit the outside of the post.

A few minutes later Neilson's shot from a corner hit the inside of the post and went in.

Town pressed forward for an equaliser and dominated the rest of the game but were unable to press home a deserved leveller.
