Grimsby v Halifax Team News

PAUL Hurst has a difficult decision to make for the home match with Halifax tonight. Scott Brown, Carl Magnay and Harry Pell are all available after injury and suspension. Craig Disley is also fit again as Hurst has his full squad to pick from.

Inevitably Hurst will have to leave players out of the XVI, never minds the starting XI. Loan players Danny Parslow and Harry Pell were brought in partly to cover for injured players who have now returned. Hurst has to decide to stick with his own permanent staff or use the loanees.

Carl Magnay will probably return at right back as Town missed him in the weekend game with Oxford. Harry Pell looked the part in the two league games he played in, and is likely to play from the start. Those choices though, the rest of the team and even the formation are all down to Hurst.

Caine Winfarrah and Ellis Humble have joined Matlock Town on loan, so they definitely won't be involved.

Saturday's line-up against Oxford was a one-off experimental formation that is not likely to be used again and it's likely that Hurst will go back to 4-5-1 as Halifax are one of the better sides in the division and they have a good record against Town.

Town have failed to beat Halifax in the three Conference games so far. Last year Halifax did the double over the Mariners but the game this season Town played well in after a poor start which saw them go a goal down. Town could well have won that game, but in the end did well to get a point in a 1-1 draw.
