FA Cup Claims Another Fixture

TOWN'S clash with Dover in the New Year has been postponed due the Whites's involvement in the FA Cup Third Round. Dover beat Cheltenham away at the weekend and will be hoping for a plumb tie in tonight's draw.

The match was due to be played on Saturday 6th January.

It is the second successive FA Cup round which has impacted upon Grimsby's league fixture list, despite Town's early exit from the competition. Last weekend the tie with Eastleigh was postponed because the Hampshire club played Southport.

A date has yet to be arranged for either game the Eastleigh or Dover game, but they will both probably be midweek which is tough on fans wanting to make the long trip to either ground as they are two of the furthest away, both being on the south coast.

On Saturday the FA Trophy begins which is another potential source of postponements. There won't be a replay next week though whatever the result of the game with Nuneaton as the two clubs have agreed to settle the tie on the day, with extra time and penalties if necessary.
