Dover v Grimsby Team News

By: Rob Sedgwick
Date: 24/03/2015

TOP scorer Lennell John-Lewis is the most likely change tonight for the long trip to Dover, although Paul Hurst could well stick with the same team that beat Eastleigh at the weekend. Town have a chance to gain ground on the top two if they win in Kent tonight.

John-Lewis scored within minutes of coming on as a substitute on Saturday at Blundell Park but both strikers Palmer and Pittman have been scoring regularly in his absence so it is not an automatic change by any means, especially as Town's leading marksmen had been going though a barren spell since the turn of the year before his tap-in goal.

So changes are likely to be few with Town having won five our of the last six games and therefore are the division's form team, and no injury worries.

The hosts Dover have had a topsy-turvy season with long losing and long winning sequences. They are currently in the middle of one of their purple patches, and have won the last three, although realistically the gap to the play-offs is one too wide to bridge for Chris Kinnear's side. The 50 point total to avoid the drop has long been reached though and the Whites will be looking to finish as high as they can in their first season at this level for over a decade.

Former Republic of Ireland international central defender Joe O'Cearuill has just joined Dover and could make his debut. Striker Dan Holman (ankle) is a doubt and is unlikely to start, although could make the bench.

Town will be looking for revenge after the early season game with Dover when Town failed to take all their chances and conceded a late goal. It could have been worse had Dover not missed an injury time penalty for what would have been an unlikely win.
