Grimsby v Torquay Team News

By: Rob Sedgwick
Date: 21/08/2015

GRIMSBY have signed Luton central midfielder Matt Robinson in a one-month loan deal. The 21-year-old featured in the National League with Kidderminster last season, but has not played for the Hatters this season. Robinson, who played 27 times in Luton's Championship season, goes straight in the squad for the home game with Torquay.

Another player who could start is centre back Shaun Pearson. Town have not kept a clean sheet this season, and conceded two more goals at Altrincham (although one should never have been given). Paul Hurst may be tempted to recall his most experienced back four player to try and rectify the defensive problems.

Marcus Marshall (knee) and Jon-Paul Pittman (stomach) are both close to making the squad after recovering from their injuries, although midfielder Scott Brown is some way off a return to the side.

Torquay are not expected to make any changes, although midfielder Bayan Fenwick is available again after suspension. Midfielder Louis Briscoe and defender James Hurst both came back from in injury in Tuesday night's defeat to Woking, and are expected to continue in the side. The Gulls have had a yo-yo season with both wins being followed by defeats so far.
