Hurst Linked with Notts County Job

PAUL Hurst has been made favourite by the bookies to become the next Notts County manager. The Grimsby boss was 20/1 when the markets opened but has been backed in to a 1/2 clear favourite by punters. However Hurst claims not to have been contacted by the League Two side.
Ricardo Moniz was recently sacked by County, who are said to be interviewing for the post this week. Other leading contenders for the post include John Sheridan, Alan Smith and Ian Baraclough.
Paul Hurst has been Grimsby manager for five years, and has guided the Mariners to three successive play-offs in the National League as well as two Wembley finals in the FA Trophy. Hurst also guided his previous clubs Boston and Ilkeston to the play-offs when he was joint manager with Rob Scott.
Most Grimsby supporters will be hoping that the Mariners can hang on to their boss, who is one of the longest serving managers in English professional football.
