Town Lose at Halifax

GRIMSBY suffered a demoralising 4-2 defeat at Halifax that has all but ruled out the automatic promotion place so many supporters were hoping for. Defensive mistakes saw Town go into a 3-0 reverse at half time.
The Mariners had actually been the better side in the early part of the game. However, two killer goals put Halifax in front and Town were chasing the game, with the visitors always looking dangerous on the break.
After the break Town continued to have most of the possession and managed to pull back a couple of goals but the deficit was too large for the Mariners to ever look likely to taking a point.
