Town Reach the Trophy Final

GRIMSBY qualified for Wembley for the sixth time in their history with a hard-fought 2-1 win over Bognor. The Mariners took their customary early goal thanks to a Padraig Amond penalty to give themselves a 2-0 cushion.
But a Bognor equaliser left the visitors just a goal away from forcing extra time, and only a late Amond goal booked Town's place in the final.
The match at Wembley will take place against division rivals Halifax. The two games so far with the Shaymen have seen the best and worst of Town, as well as plenty of goals! Grimsby won the league game at Blundell Park 7-0 earlier in the season, then lost 4-2 in Halifax. So the Wembley final will give Grimsby the perfect change of revenge.
The Marinets last lifted a national trophy in 1998, 18 ago.
