Danny Collins Arrival

IT cannot be denied that Paul Hurst really knows how to pull a complete unknown quantity to Grimsby, but unbeknownst to us his scouting ability has stretched to signing Danny Collins. He has to be commended by bringing in the 36-year-old.

Last season, Collins was plying his trade in the Championship as a left back and a left-sided centre-half. These are the positions in our team where we may need some experience. Collins contributed well making 56 interceptions last season, which is the second highest of his teammates. He also made a staggering 574 forward passes, showing his desire to push play forwards. With his experience, it may prompt Town to play from the back, and capitalise on our extremely fast-paced, counter-attacking style of football; his arrival should help solidify our defence, as at times Danny Andrew has looked a little out-of-his-depth, but should our fine vein of goals continue, our defence should begin to settle well.
