Grimsby v Cheltenham Team News

By: Rob Sedgwick
Date: 21/10/2016

PAUL Hurst will remain in charge of Grimsby Town, at least for one more game, after strong and persistent rumours linking Hurst win the vacant Shrewsbury job. Hurst appears to have been approached by the Shropshire club, although solid facts at this stage are thin on the ground.

Hurst has been linked before with vacancies at Notts County and Rotherham, but this appears to be a more serious prospect of the Town manager leaving.

The Mariners take on fellow promotees Cheltenham, who won the National League last season and did the double over Grimsby in the process. The Gloucestershire club kept most of the squad that kept them promoted, unlike Town, but they have got off to a slower start than Grimsby, and currently languish in the bottom six.

For Grimsby Ben Davies (calf), Ashley Chambers (gashed thigh), Sean McAllister (groin) are all ruled out, while one unknown player is doubtful and will face a late fitness test.

For the visitors Harry Pell and Daniel O'Shaughnessy both return from suspension, but striker Danny Wright is banned and fellow striker Dan Holman (toe) ruled out.
