Where will Grimsby finish?

Grimsby v Accrington Team News

By: Rob Sedgwick
Date: 29/12/2017

GRIMSBY will be without first choice goalkeeper James McKeown following the shot stopper's groin strain sustained in Boxing Day's clash with Mansfield. Rookie 'keeper Ben Killip came on against the Stags and will continue to deputise against Stanley.

Chris Clements has returned from his loan spell at Barrow and will give Russell Slade another option in midfield. Slade decided to replace Jaiyesimi with Woolford on Tuesday so the Town boss will have to weigh up his different options right across the midfield. One player who definitely won't be featuring is midfielder Jamie Osborne who has requested to remain on-loan at Solihull Moors for another 1-2 weeks for "personal reasons" and to continue his rehabilitation to full fitness. The Mariners do have the option to recall Osborne within 24-hours but that won't be taken up until next week at the earliest.

Accrington have lost their last five games but remain above Town thanks to their early season points haul. Stanley expect to recall captain Seamus Conneely after the right back successfully came through an appearance as a substitute on Boxing Day. Ex-Everton defender Jordan Thorniley is a doubt.

Town have won two of the three games against Stanley in the last 18 months and have drawn the other.
