Former Mariner Lewis Collins Features for Reserves

By: Luke Pawley
Date: 11/04/2018 (Last updated: 12/04/2018)

FORMER Grimsby Town midfielder Lewis Collins featured for the Mariners' reserves side against York City on Wednesday afternoon (11 April)

Collins, 21, currently plays for Mansfield Town and has spent time on loan at Gainsborough Trinity and North Ferriby United this season.

The midfielder left Grimsby in 2013 when he signed for Championship side Reading, before making the move to Mansfield Town in 2016.

Grimsby Town reserves drew the game 1-1, with first-year scholar Rumarn Burrell getting on the scoresheet. Nine under-17s and two under-16s featured for the side, which makes the result even more impressive.

First-year professionals Jack Keeble and Tom Sawyer also featured for the side and were two of the oldest players in the squad as they looked to impress Michael Jolley and Paul Wilkinson.

The full Grimsby XI and subs for today's reserves game is as follows:

Battersby; Jamieson, Keeble, Powles, Saunders (Hope 67'); Collins; Sawyer, Richardson (Curran 58'); Buckley; Burrell, Poynter (Starbuck 62')

Unused sub: Pollock
