Checkatrade Trophy Draw

GRIMSBY have been drawn in the same group as Doncaster, Notts County amd Newcastle U-21s in the Checkatrade Trophy. The vast majority of fans have boycotted the tournament in the last two seasons, and the Mariners are yet to win a game in the competition.
It's expected a large-scale boycott will take place again this year, as many supporters see it as the first step towards allowing Premier League B teams into the league.
The Mariners lost their second pre-season friendly last night, although gave a competitive performance against Sunderland at Blundell Park. Town lost their first pre-season game to Clee Town.
