Vernam the Hero at Colchester

GRIMSBY capped an excellent week for the Mariners with three points at high-flying Colchester last night. Striker Charles Vernam was the hero of the day, scoring a stunning hattrick as Town twice came from behind to secure three points.
The victory came on the back of an excellent point at Bradford when an injury time goal by Luke Hendrie meant Grimsby came away from Valley Parade with a point. Grimsby have only lost 2 out of 8 matches in 2020 and are slowly climbing up the table.
Grimsby have 3 out of the next 4 games at home and therefore have plenty of opportunities to pick up more points.
