Hewitt Joins Stags

VERSATILE defender Elliott Hewitt has joined Mansfield in a two-year deal, unsurprisingly preferring to stay in the Football League over remaining at Blundell Park. Hewitt, who played in midfield and defence last season, was one of the few stand out players of Town's dismal campaign.
He will join former defensive partner Rollin Menayese, who spent last season on loan from the Stags, and who ended the season as Hewitt's partner in central defence. Ironically their form in the last few games for the Mariners may have seen both players feature in the same positions but at another club.
Hurst has been linked with Menayese, but realistically he may have to turn his attention to other targets as he starts to pencil in his new squad.
