Question of the Week

Where will Grimsby be next season?

Trelleborg Friendly Team News

GRIMSBY TOWN await to see if Steve Livingstone and Leicester City's on trial winger Kevin Ellison are fit enough to take part in tonight's friendly with Trelleborg. The pair both missed out on Saturday with thigh injuries, but are expected to play some part in the friendly encounter (7pm).

Lennie Lawrence's second Norwegian target Stian Thomassen definitely will feature in the Town starting line-up, in an attempt to impress the Mariners sufficiently to offer the 24-year-old defender a contract back in England with Grimsby.

Otherwise Lawrence has promised changes for tonight's game, saying: "Those who didn't start on Saturday will start against Trelleborg".

The Grimsby manager has admitted publicly to having at least two Norwegian players (Thomassen and Arne Vidar Moen) in mind as a replacement for Peter Handyside, and rumours of other possible Scandinavian targets have been doing the rounds.

Town desperately need cover before the start of the season proper for the only two (fit) recognised centre backs in the squad at present, in the shape of club captain Paul Groves and ex-Baggie Paul Raven, with only striker Steve Livingstone as existing cover with any experience.

Town (from) Steve Croudson, Danny Butterfield, Tony Gallimore, Stian Thomassen, Steve Livingstone, Wayne Burnett, Stacy Coldicott, Alan Pouton, Kevin Ellison, Michael Jeffrey, Jonathan Rowan, Danny Coyne , John McDermott, David Smith, Stuart Campbell, Paul Groves, Paul Raven, Menno Willems, Bradley Allen, Phil Jevons.
