DR FISHY has compiled a report card for the Grimsby Town side that lost 2-1 away at Wimbledon at Selhurst Park on Saturday.

Coyne - Solid enough and was unlucky to be beaten by a fluke goal in the closing stages. Let down by the men in front of him really. However showed signs of his old problem with crosses, coming then staying. One wonders if he is still going for GK coaching with Andy Rhodes. C
Coldicott - Unfairly played at right back but he can not be blamed for anything. Strong in the tackle, as always and kept the dangerous Kevin Copper quiet for most of the game. Natural tendency took over at times and found himself out of position. Lack of speed meant overlapping was a no-no. C+
Gallimore - Another decent enough game for Gally at left back. Kept ‘Judas Nielsen’ in check for most of the game. Tended to hoof the ball down the line at times when Campbell was in a good position, then again the whole team did this so it has to go down as tactics. C+
Groves - His return was expected and he didn't do to badly. Made a few good interceptions and dealt with the burly Shipperley well. Struggled when up against the tricky Connolly. C
Broomes - Like Groves did OK and his pace at the back was at times vital. Efforts at bringing the ball forward were few and far between but two midfielders sat right in front of him can't have helped. C
Pouton - After two strong games in the middle Alan was returned to the wing. Wasted out wide, Pouton struggled to get into the game. Fought well but is not a winger and will not run past a man like one. Overdid the step-overs a bit. C
Campbell - Nice goal and was Town’s only real attacking force in the first half. Lack of support from those surrounding didn't help. Along with Boulding created most problems. C+
Butterfield - Err, one nice shot which was unlucky to stay out and not a lot more. To say that he bottled out of tackles was an understatement, constantly pulled out of 60-40 balls. Having said that like Pouton and Campbell, Danny needs a permanent position. C-
Willems - Menno put in one of the performances that aren't great but not awful either. More or less the same as Butterfield except he did the thing that all midfielders are required to do..tackle C
Allen - Having appeared to back at his best Bradley was well off the pace. In fact I can't remember him doing much except giving the ball away for their second goal. C-
Rowan - Showed a few nice touches but nothing clinical. After a fantastic start to the season young Jonny is getting nowhere. His lack of physical strength means that every defence will out-muscle him and remove any threat. He needs a rest for a start and then maybe a loan deal to Scunny etc. C-
Boulding - The former Mansfield flyer could feel unlucky to be on the bench having been our best attacking player in the two previous games. Once he came on Town had an urgency about them. His pace is a great asset and should be used accordingly. He made the goal and almost got one himself after chasing down Kelvin Davis in the Don’s goal. Lacked any support B-
Beharall and Chapman were both late substitutions and would be unfair of me to award any grade.
