Town Draw at Rotherham After Taking Lead

By: Bill Osborne
Date: 29/01/2002

TOWN drew at Rotherham tonight 1-1 in a game where Grimsby had the advantage of a goal lead and once again, let it slip from their grasp. Town were under a bit of pressure from the kick-off but gradually re-asserted themselves and it was a bit scrappy during the first half.

On 37 minutes a Butterfield cross hit the post and Taylor scored off the rebound.

With about 8 minutes to go Rotherham scored the goal that looked likely all the second half. Disappointing for Town and disappointing tactics. Town allowed Rotherham to put them under pressure instead of using the advantage of a goal lead to spur them on.

A report will be on here soon.
