Coyne Back To Tranmere!

By: Dan Humphrey
Date: 24/04/2002

LATEST reports say that Grimsby's Player of the Year Danny Coyne is likely to make a shock return to his old club Tranmere Rovers.

He is lined up to play in fellow 'keeper Eric Nixon's testimonial on Tuesday August 6th, when an Eric Nixon Tranmere side will play a Kevin Keegan All Star Eleven, consisting largely of current Manchester City players. With Nixon set to take the number one jersey for the Tranmere team, Coyne might just find playing alongside the likes of Berkovic, Benarbia and even Keegan himself!

Nixon, a Man City fan, is hanging up his gloves at the age of 39, and told the Liverpool Echo that he had already contacted a number of his ex-Tranmere colleagues, and that the involvement of Coyne was 'possible', but not yet confirmed.
