Why Do We Always Get It Wrong?

YET again money is ruling our heads, why do the club always get it wrong?

Bradley Allen played an integral part in our safety last season, Danny Butterfield showed great versatility all over the park -yet these are the players that almost certainly will be leaving BP this close season.

While players like Menno Willems (on the Transfer List of his own discretion) are still here. Also BIT PART PLAYERS (e.g. Wayne Burnett) are still holding out for new contract talks when they should be released. Yet again another two fantastic players like Mickey Boulding and Simon Ford with great futures ahead of them only offered one year contracts at the start of last season. WHY?

The Board are now saying that due to the ITV Digital fiasco we are unable to offer contracts at this time and then moan about how much the club have lost. Instead they should dig into their own money pits and offer the above players new contracts and sign Terry Cooke on a permanent basis. I read about how thoughtful Robert Taylor was playing the last month of the season at GTFC for free just to try and win himself a contract with us.

Taylor just wants to get paid for a job he loves doing no matter where he is playing or what money he's on. If the Board don't want the club to go the way of Bradford, Lincoln York, etc...they should listen to what the fans want and do everything in their power to grant them that. This could only result in one thing: BUMS ON SEATS which pays their wages, shows ambition for the club and gets the great support back at BP.

Up The Mariners!
