Ford Agrees Terms With Grimsby

By: Bill Osborne
Date: 28/07/2002

SIMON Ford says he will sign for Grimsby Town this week despite Dave Jones wanting him to sign for Wolves. But Ford says he is looking for first team football and has had further talks with Paul Groves that have led him to make his decision.

"I am glad that the whole thing is over and done with. I will sign for Grimsby in the next day or two and I've decided that I want to stay and play first-team football."

"I did go to Wolves on trial but having spoken with the manager and travelled on the pre-season tour with Grimsby, it makes sense to sign the new contract that they have offered me."
