The Fishy - Grimsby Town FC

Question of the Week

Is football a business or a sport?

Town v Brighton on Sky!

By: Rob Sedgwick
Date: 28/04/2003

SKY TV have chosen to show live the Mariners v Brighton on the final day of the season. Although the game will not alter Grimsby's fate, if Brighton win and Stoke lose to Reading the Seagulls could stay up at the expense of the Potters.

Town will benefit financially to the tune of £60,000 from Sky for screening the game, which is already sold out for away supporters, who have been advised not to travel without a ticket.

The match had already been moved forward to a 1:30pm kick-off, with all the other games taking place simultaneously.
