Give me Two Years And I Will Stay! - Macca

John McDermott has told Paul Groves he wants two year deal to stay at Blundell Park after re-opening talks with Groves yesterday. He revealed to the Grimsby Telegraph that he is 'favourable' towards the Mariners despite the interest of a first and second division club.

"We've spoken and re-opened talks." I've got a first division and a second division club interested but, to be honest, I'm favourable towards Grimsby. I'm waiting on the club getting back to me about certain things in the contract. It's not the money. That hasn't changed and isn't the issue."

"I'm waiting for them and if everything goes okay you never know. There are just a few bits and bobs to sort out. I go on on holiday on Sunday and I want it sorted out before then.''

"I have asked for a couple of years. If I say yes to Grimsby, and don't sign anything before I go away, my word will be my word even if a bigger offer comes in from a bigger club."

"Whoever sorts things out before the weekend, that's where I'll go."
