The Fishy - Grimsby Town FC

Question of the Week

Is football a business or a sport?

Groves Back In Action?

GRIMSBY Town have injury problems in their defence for Saturday's visit to Rushden and Diamonds with a number of players in doubt.

Centre backs Tony Crane (suspended) and Simon Ford (hamstring) are out and left back Darren Barnard is struggling with a bruised foot picked up in the 0-0 draw with Barnsley.

Jason Crowe may be needed as a replacement for Barnard. The only other first team central defender is the inexperienced Greg Young but Paul Groves may also select himself.

Simon Ford is currently at Lilleshall undergoing treatment on a recurring hamstring injury, but the weekend is too early for him to make a return after lasting just 17 minutes of the Colchester game before breaking down again. "It possibly may end up taking that little bit longer to make sure he's 100% fit", Town boss Paul Groves told Radio Humberside.
