Is football a business or a sport?

Seconds Out! Round One!

RUSSELL Slade and Ian Rush have been putting on a typical Fergie Vs Wenger post match war of words after Slade made critical comments about the Chester game.

In the Grimsby Telegraph today they quote Rush as complaining that Slade was 'totally out of order' with his post-match claims that Chester 'roughed Town up a bit' during the Mariners' 2-1 defeat at the Saunders Honda Stadium.

But Slade claimed that the match video shows that Belle was guilty of hefty fouls on four or five occasions.

Rush to the Chester Evening Leader said; "Russell Slade couldn't have been watching his own players on Saturday if that's what he thinks. His comments are totally out of order. By what he said, it's clear Slade was looking at Belle from the start."

But Slade said: "Straight from the start Belle went in hard on Justin Whittle and so I was obviously keeping my eye on him after that. His challenges in the opening minutes set the tone of the game from their point of view."

"Anyone who saw the game, or who sees the video, will see that Belle has committed four or five offences in the first half and I still believe he was lucky to stay on the pitch after being booked."

"Even one of our boys, John McDermott, says he overheard the referee warning Belle - 'one more and you're off'."

The rematch may take place at Blundell Park later this season with Joe Frater already bidding for the promotion rights!
