Cohen Injury Blow

By: Rob Sedgwick
Date: 27/07/2006

WINGER Gary Cohen is a major doubt for the season's opener against Boston after succumbing to a knee injury. The former Gretna wide man has been diagnosed as suffering from tendonitis with a sore area below his knee stopping him from training. No return date has yet been pencilled in for Cohen.

Meanwhile striker Michael Reddy is on course to at least make the bench in the season's opener against Boston. Reddy's troublesome groin injury returned in early July but the Irishman told Radio Humberside: "I have been training since Monday.

"I had a cortisone injection last week and though I can still feel it a little bit I've got my fingers crossed I will be able to play some part."

The former Sunderland striker is some way off full fitness having missed the early part of pre-season training and only having a limited roll at the end of the 2005-2006 campaign.

"It would have been nice to get a full pre-season under my belt," added Reddy

"I'll be playing catch up for the first few weeks of the season, but it means I'm not missing too many important things."
