Michael Reddy Puts In Transfer Request

By: Bill Osborne
Date: 01/08/2006

Despite recent attempts to get Michael Reddy to sign an extension to his contract, he has stunned the club by handing in a transfer request.

Mariners Net reports that Reddy made his request to Graham Rodger, the man who he had praised for improving him as a player.

As the Mariners have taken up the option on Reddy's contract keeping him at Blundell Park until the end of the current campaign, his request will have to be considered. If he is kept until the end of the season, the club will gain no financial benefit if he leaves on a free transfer.

If he is now determined to leave, it would be better to obtain a fee for him.

Recent rumours point to Leeds United as one of the clubs that might be interested in him.
