Disappointed Says Buckley

By: Bill Osborne
Date: 22/11/2006

ALAN Buckley spoke of his disappointment with the loss to Northampton in the FA cup replay. He made no reference to players which is his usual way but there can be no doubt that he would have spoken to them in private.

Buckley said; "It was disappointing. Everybody came here with high expectations after the way we had played in the last two away games. But I think we were beaten by a brighter team."

"The first goal came from bad positional play from us. Then we settled down and for 20 minutes we were well on top and had a couple of half chances that we should have made more of."

"We went 4-3-3 and tried to make it a blood and thunder game. But they saw it out. They sat off us and picked us off. They did not look like getting another goal and we did not look like scoring."
